Starting Over Again

TO GET WHAT YOU WANT NOW, FIRST YOU NEED TO DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT
Most people spend more time planning their holiday weekend than they do figuring out what they want out of life.
IF YOU HAVE BEEN WORRYING AND EXPECTING THE WORST, THAT IS WHAT YOUíLL GET
What you see is what you get. If you have been actively visualizing all the bad things that may happen to you, then you are actually helping to bring them about.
AFTER READING THE PREVIOUS CHAPTERS WE ASSUME YOU HAVE WRITTEN DOWN TEN REASONS WHY YOU WANT HAPPINESS NOW
Then we can also assume that you have written down ten reasons why you deserve happiness now. If you havenít, stop now and do so.
TO ALL YOUR OTHER GOALS, ADD THE GOAL OF HAPPINESS
If one of your goals is to get married, you most certainly will. But you probably wonít be happy because happiness itself was never part of that goal.
ACCOMPLISHING GREAT HAPPINESS ON YOUR OWN NOW MAKES YOU ATTRACT OTHER HAPPY PEOPLE
When your goal is happiness, you only get into relationships that add to your happiness. It all happens automatically. Once programmed for happiness, you will only be comfortable with people that add to your happiness. If you see yourself as miserable then you will attract and feel comfortable only with people who keep you that way.
YOU HAVE A LOT OF OLD PROGRAMMING THAT NO LONGER WORKS FOR YOU
We assume here you have decided what some of that programming is, and you want to change it. Let us take an example of your old programming, the one which tells you not to talk to strangers. Itís good programming for a child. But it doesnít contribute to happiness and well-being for an adult. This outgrown childhood programming works against us now, so we make a decision.
STEP ONE, THE DECISION
We decide that we want to get rid of this old programming that says that we shouldnít talk to strangers, so that whenever we do talk to strangers we are uncomfortable, uptight and under stress. WE have decided to change this since we are now mature enough to decide who is a danger and who isnít.
STEP TWO, WRITE OUT YOUR NEW PROGRAMMING
"I now see strangers simply as friends I have yet to meet"
STEP THREE, REPLACE OLD PROGRAMMING WITH A POSITIVE STATEMENT
"I am no longer uncomfortable and under stress talking to strangers and I delight in an opportunity to develop new friends."
STEP FOUR, GET BOTH ACROSS TO YOUR BIG COMPUTER, YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS
How you do that we will consider later.
ONE MORE TIME, THIS TIME WITH HAPPINESS.
STEP ONE: DECISION
I am tired of being unhappy. I deserve happiness and I am going to reprogram for a happy life.
STEP TWO: WRITE OUT NEW
"I am a happy successful fulfilled single person." Donít say "I am going to be" say "I am".
STEP THREE: REMOVE OLD
I no longer have emotionally-based demands and expectations that affect my happiness.
STEP FOUR: SELL YOUR
These are examples and you will undoubtedly want to do more but do include the happiness part.
Now, you ask, how do I sell my subconscious.
TO GET NEW PROGRAMMING
ESTABLISHED, USE ONE OF
If someone tells you something often enough, you eventually start to accept that as fact.
It finally is accepted by your subconscious and becomes part of your programming.
If you tell YOURSELF something often enough, your subconscious accepts it as fact. One of the ways to change your programming is to read (preferably aloud) affirmations (such as the previous mentioned reprogramming statements). Reading these several times a day for two weeks will start to change your basic programming and change your life.
SOME SUGGEST COPYING THEM BY HAND MANY TIMES A DAY
Again the repetition finally gets through to your subconscious. When writing it out over and over again, write off to the margin how you feel about that each time. You will be amazed at how your comments change and you eventually begin to accept it.
THIS ALL SEEMS SO SILLY
Here I am, an adult, writing something over and over or reading it aloud many times a day. Iíve only asked you to try it because it always works if you hang in there and continue it for two weeks without fail. DO NOT skip a day. It requires some discipline on your part.
YOU CAN USE A SHORT CUT
The self-hypnosis script where you play a cassette recording you make for yourself is a shortcut. This relaxes your conscious mind and your new programming is accepted readily by your subconscious. You do it all completely relaxed in fifteen-minute sessions three times a day listening to your tape which helps eliminate stress, gets your new goals and new programming accepted in a short period of time.
